ARLINGTON, TEXAS (July 9, 2024) – Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and entertainment, is poised to deliver an exceptional food, beverage and retail experience at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game at the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field.

From premium clubs to local restaurant partners, freshly prepared poke bowls, onsite smoked brisket, street tacos, a vast selection of merchandise and technology that makes shopping a breeze – it’s a whole new ballgame as compared to 1995, when the Midsummer Classic was last played in Arlington.

SUSTAINABILITY

To further enhance sustainability, Delaware North has partnered with Waste Management to implement comprehensive recycling programs. All plastic from retail shipments, as well as cardboard and grease, will be recycled. Coca-Cola will also support these efforts by providing plastic and aluminum recycling units, encouraging fans to responsibly dispose of their waste.

Fans attending the All-Star Game will have an added incentive to recycle through the innovative CYCLE reverse vending machine (RVM), located near Section 125. By inserting empty beverage containers into the RVM and scanning a QR code, guests can instantly find out if they’ve won a prize.

Innovative Technology and Collaborative Partnerships to Redefine Urban Waste Management

New York, NY – March 18, 2024 – Recycle Track Systems NYC, LLC (“RTS NYC”), a member of the RTS group of companies (“RTS”), is proud to announce its pivotal role in New York City’s groundbreaking Commercial Waste Zones (“CWZ”) program, mandated by Local Law 199 of 2019. Overseen by the Department of Sanitation ( “DSNY”), the CWZ program aims to revolutionize commercial waste collection and processing, prioritizing efficiency, safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. Through the division of New York City into 20 distinct zones, each serviced by a limited number of waste management companies selected by DSNY through a competitive RFP process, the initiative aims to significantly reduce truck traffic, cut emissions, and bolster recycling efforts.

RTS NYC has been selected as a key service provider under this transformative program. Leveraging RTS’s cutting-edge technology solutions, commitment to sustainability and strategic partnerships, RTS NYC intends to play a crucial role in reshaping the landscape of waste management in New York City.

Driving Innovation and Sustainability

RTS NYC’s selection underscores RTS’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in waste management. RTS NYC is poised to introduce state-of-the-art solutions to optimize waste collection, processing, and recycling across its Zones. Greg Lettieri, Co-Founder and CEO of RTS, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating: “As a New York City-based company, we are honored to lead the charge in revolutionizing the City’s waste management through the CWZ program. Our tech-driven approach and collaborative partnerships position us at the forefront of urban sustainability, paving the way for a greener, more resilient city.” With a focus on efficiency, transparency, and environmental stewardship, RTS aims to set a new standard for urban waste management.

The Ball Aluminum Cup® Announces Installation of a Cycle Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Copper Mountain Resort

BROOMFIELD, CO, March 14, 2024 – PRNewswire – Ball Aluminum Cups® (NYSE: BALL), Copper Mountain Resort and the POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Corporation today announced the installation of a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Jack’s Slopeside Grill to increase aluminum recycling in the mountain town. The machine was installed in February 2024 and will be available for the duration of the season through April 2024.

Ball Corporation, a leading global provider of sustainable aluminum beverage packaging, worked with leading recycling data collection provider Recycle Track Systems ® (RTS) to install an RVM powered by RTS’s Cycle™ platform. The RVM is an essential component of Copper Mountain’s broader Play Forever commitment to protect the environment and support the mountain town community. Together, the environmental allies aim to incentivize increased recycling rates at one of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado and educate consumers about the benefits of using aluminum. Guests can insert their Ball Aluminum Cup®, aluminum can or aluminum bottle into the front of the machine, which then uses a conveyor belt to scan, crush and sort the aluminum packaging. Once the packaging is sorted, users will have the opportunity to scan a QR code and may be surprised with Play Forever merchandise.

“Installing the reverse vending machine at Copper Mountain Resort is an incredible opportunity to incentivize recycling and educate consumers about aluminum’s sustainable properties to help protect one of Colorado’s beloved mountain towns,” Ball Aluminum Cups® Vice President of Commercial Michelle Fick said. “At Ball, we recognize the power of ski resorts and other outdoor adventure centers to drive change and believe interacting with the RVM will encourage guests to make more sustainable everyday choices while enhancing their experience at the resort.”

The Cycle™-powered RVM installation will aid Copper Mountain Resort’s existing waste diversion efforts. At the end of the season, the Cycle™-powered RVM will be able to provide metrics on the quantity, type and mass of aluminum recycled.

“At Copper Mountain Resort, we’re excited to reinforce our commitment to sustainability with the introduction of this reverse vending machine. In collaboration with partners like Ball and Recycle Track Systems, we’re revolutionizing recycling practices and engaging our community in a meaningful way,” said Jeff Grasser, Copper Mountain Senior Resort Operations and Sustainability Manager. “Together, through initiatives like this, we aim to inspire and reward participants, fostering a collective passion for a more sustainable future.”

“RTS is excited to enhance our collaboration with Ball Aluminum Cup® at Copper Mountain, bringing our Cycle Reverse Vending Machines to the forefront of eco-innovation,” Recycle Track Systems® CEO Gregory Lettieri said. “This partnership is a testament to our mutual dedication to the environment and making recycling an engaging and meaningful activity. Beyond just reducing waste, we’re fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among visitors, showcasing the real-world impact of our collective efforts. It’s a step towards redefining environmental responsibility, blending sustainability seamlessly with the great outdoors.”

Infinitely recyclable and economically valuable, aluminum is the most sustainable beverage packaging material, and like aluminum cans, aluminum cups can be easily recycled and aluminum cans, cups and bottles can be recycled and back on a store shelf in about 60 days. The Ball Aluminum Cup® is now composed of 90 percent recycled content, the highest recycled content rate of any beverage packaging in its category and is available in 5 different sizes. In addition to its sustainability and recycling strengths, the aluminum cup is lightweight, sturdy, cool to the touch and provides an elevated drinking experience.

Purpose-driven and thriving: this year’s ‘BC’s Top Employers’ are announced

VANCOUVER, February 13, 2024 – Job-seekers across British Columbia are looking for employers that make a meaningful difference in their communities – and employers are responding with innovative programs that make a positive local impact. The best of these initiatives were recognized today as BC’s Top Employers (2024) were announced in a special magazine copublished by the Vancouver Sun and Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.

“There’s a dated assumption that meaningful work comes at a cost,” says Richard Yerema, executive editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Caring for your people isn’t counter to running a successful organization, it’s key. And what better proposition to attract talented individuals than to offer progressive benefits along with the ability to have a positive impact on the broader community.”

This year’s winners are drawn from a diverse set of industries, from software to engineering and the public sector, which reflect the province’s overall economy. Among the winners are organizations that are purpose-driven themselves – such as Covenant House, a provider of housing and support services to youth facing homelessness, and United Way British Columbia, a not-for-profit organization that supports people in need.

“Many of this year’s winners are keenly aware that at the root of their success as organizations is the wellbeing of their employees,” says Kristina Leung, managing editor of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “Whether it’s enhancing coverage for mental health care or increasing paid time off to enable employees to spend more time with loved ones, this year’s winners understand that taking care of employees is a central part of every decision their organizations make.”

Now in its 19th year, BC’s Top Employers is a special designation that recognizes the British Columbia employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Editors at Mediacorp review employers on eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. The editors publish detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for these criteria, providing transparency in the selection of winners and a catalogue of best practices for employers and job-seekers alike. The 2 competition is open to any employer with their head office or principal place of business located within British Columbia.

Founded in 1992, Mediacorp Canada Inc. is the nation’s largest publisher of employment periodicals. Since 1999, the Toronto-based publisher has managed the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, which includes 19 regional and special-interest editorial competitions that reach millions of Canadians annually through a variety of magazine and newspaper partners, including The Globe and Mail and Vancouver Sun. Mediacorp also operates Eluta.ca, one of Canada’s largest job search engines, used by millions of job-seekers annually to find new job postings and discover what the nation’s best employers are offering.

The full list of BC’s Top Employers (2024) was announced today in a special magazine published with the Vancouver Sun. Detailed ‘reasons for selection’ for each of this year’s winners, as well as hundreds of additional stories and photos about their initiatives, were released today by the editors and are accessible via the competition homepage.

The Ball Aluminum Cup® Announces Installation of a Cycle Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

BROOMFIELD, COOct. 25, 2023 – PRNewswire – Ball Aluminum Cups® (NYSE: BALL) and Denver Arts & Venues today announced the installation of a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) on the Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s Top Plaza to increase aluminum recycling in the venue. The machine was installed on October 2nd, 2023 and will be available at Red Rocks through Nov. 12, 2023. Ball Aluminum Cups® has been an official sustainability partner of Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Denver Arts & Venues since 2021 and has provided sustainable drinkware to help guests eliminate millions of single-use cans, cups, and bottles every year.

Ball, a leading global provider of sustainable aluminum beverage packaging, worked with leading RVM provider Cycle, powered by Recycle Track Systems® (RTS), to install the machine. The RVM aims to increase recycling rates at Red Rocks and educate consumers about the benefits of using aluminum.  Guests can insert their Ball Aluminum Cup®, aluminum can or aluminum bottle into the front of the machine, which then uses a conveyor belt to scan, crush and sort the aluminum packaging. Once the packaging is sorted, users will have the opportunity to scan a QR code to enter a chance to win Red Rocks merchandise.

“Installing the Reverse Vending Machine at Red Rocks brings many of Ball’s priorities to life – incentivizing recycling, educating consumers about aluminum’s sustainable properties, and driving change through entertainment events,” Ball Aluminum Cups® General Manager and President Emily Fong Mitchell said. “Interacting with the RVM will allow guests to take an active part in recycling while enhancing their overall experience at the venue through the chance to win Red Rocks merchandise.”

The RVM installation will aid Red Rocks’ existing waste diversion efforts. With over one million visitors annually, Red Rocks strives to reduce landfill waste by using a three-bin waste collection system and an employee waste sorting team to maximize recycling rates. At the end of the season, the RVM will be able to provide Red Rocks with metrics on the quantity, type and mass of aluminum recycled.

“The Reverse Vending Machine is a fun way to engage Red Rocks fans in sustainability efforts,” said Brian Kitts, Red Rocks spokesman. “Our use of the Ball Aluminum Cup® works best when fans understand the infinite recyclability of the cups and are partners in making that happen.”

“At RTS, we’re thrilled to leverage Cycle’s innovative solutions for this initiative with the Ball Aluminum Cup® at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre,” Recycle Track Systems® CEO Gregory Lettieri said.” Our collaboration is about more than just recycling; it’s about gamifying sustainability. Cycle makes recycling convenient while also engaging and rewarding guests. Together, we’re demonstrating how technology and sustainability can come together to create an unforgettable experience for all while making a positive impact on our planet.”

Infinitely recyclable and economically valuable, aluminum is the most sustainable beverage packaging material, and like aluminum cans, aluminum cups can be easily recycled. 75 percent of all the aluminum ever produced is still in use today and aluminum cans, cups and bottles can be recycled and back on a store shelf in about  60 days.

RTS continues commitment to innovation in recycling through acquiring Cycle Reverse Vending Machines

February 13, 2023 Recycle Track Systems, Inc. (RTS), a leader in cutting edge traceability and sustainability solutions utilized in the materials, waste, and recycling industry, has acquired the assets of Cycle Technology, Inc. (Cycle), including its reverse vending machine (RVM) technology and recycling rewards platform, as part of ongoing commitment to increase innovation by expanding recycling through engagement programs, like gamification and rewards.

Cycle powered by RTS partners with teams across the MLB, MLS, and NFL to increase recycling rates and reduce waste, and today is available in select stadiums. Cycle made its debut with HEINEKEN USA and Inter Miami CF in early 2022 then quickly expanded as part of Anheuser-Busch’s National Recycling League, a multi-sports league coalition aiming to reduce waste on game day, to first launch at Washington Nationals’ Nationals Park, then with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles were the first team in the NFL to debut the emerging technology, offering prizes from autographed items to even tickets to next year’s season opener, for fans who make use of them at their home games at Lincoln Financial Field. This past weekend, RTS and Cycle brought RVM technology to the big game for the first-time with Anheuser-Busch.

Cycle co-founder, Anwar Khan, shared “Cycle and RTS have been collaborating over the last year and it was clear, given their size and scale, for us to formally team up. We are thrilled to expand the impact RVMs have through RTS’s expansive portfolio of services and clients, and through the mentorship of their executive team. Greg Lettieri has been a tremendous mentor and resource to Cycle, and we look forward to growing with him and his team’s leadership. From humble beginnings in our freshman dorm rooms, all of us on the Cycle team never imagined this outcome when we first started, and we are grateful for all those that have been a part of this journey.”

Today, RTS is also the proud sustainable materials management provider for professional teams, including the New York Mets’ Citi Field and Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center, assisting in reduced emissions through increasing diversion from landfill and providing sustainable material management services powered by real-time metrics and feedback regarding the team’s waste management practices. With the help of RTS, Philadelphia Union’s Subaru Park was able to achieve zero landfill status, meaning that all of the waste generated at games was reduced, reused or recycled.

RTS Chief Executive Officer, Greg Lettieri, “RTS’s momentum has been rooted in our ability to deliver cutting-edge waste management solutions that inspire and incentivize consumers to strive for sustainability. Our acquisition of Cycle adds an interactive, real-time recycling experience our customers can leverage. At RTS, Cycle joins Zerowaste.com, Recyclebank and our expanding suite of innovative, industry-leading products that are driving the community engagement and education our customers need to meet their zero waste goals.”

Together with Cycle reverse vending machine (RVM) technology and recycling rewards platform, RTS will continue to highlight the importance of existing sustainability efforts on and off the field, by engaging fans on recycling across our network of stadium, event, and other commercial facilities.

‘Big Game’ Means Big Impact for Anheuser-Busch’s National Recycling League

Gamified Reverse Vending Machines Make Their Super Bowl Debut

ST. LOUIS, MO – February 10, 2023 – Anheuser-Busch is bringing its industry-leading sustainability efforts to the biggest stage yet – Super Bowl LVII. For the first time in Super Bowl history, A-B, will bring an innovative Cycle reverse vending machine to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, giving fans the chance to score an environmental touchdown and win some big-time prizes. Anheuser-Busch was the first company to bring the Cycle powered by RTS reverse vending machines to both NFL and MLB stadiums.

Every beverage container recycled using the Cycle reverse vending machine will give fans an instant prize as well as an opportunity to be entered to win a pair of tickets to the 2023 NFL regular season. There will be ten grand prize winners and those will be announced by the end of March. The contest is part of the Anheuser-Busch’s ‘National Recycling League,’ which was created in 2022 to help reduce waste on game days across multiple professional sports leagues.

“We approach everything we do at Anheuser-Busch with an innovative mindset so that we can create an outsized impact for our customers, our communities, and our environment,” said Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch. “Since the creation of the National Recycling League last year, we’ve worked together with our professional league and team partners and sports fans to divert thousands of pounds of recyclables out of landfills – truly working towards a shared dream of a future with less game day waste and more cheers.”

The National Recycling League was created by Anheuser-Busch to bring visibility to the importance of recycling and impact those behaviors among consumers wherever they cheer on their favorite team – whether it’s in-stadium, at home, or at their local neighborhood bar. Bringing together league partners to create a professional multi-league recycling competition is something only Anheuser-Busch could execute.

The league is currently made up of teams from the MLB and NFL, with more professional sports leagues coming on board later this year. Ten NFL teams worked with Anheuser-Busch on recycling and waste-reducing programs during 2022-2023 season – including the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Seattle Seahawks.

Each team committed to implementing a range of new, innovative National Recycling League activations aimed at reducing waste and improving recycling rates at stadiums to help divert recyclable materials such as beer bottles and cans from landfills. Activations included offering infinitely recyclable aluminum cups to fans instead of single-use plastic, in-seat recycling decals, and in-stadium signage sharing a simple call-to-action with consumers – ‘Recycle Like a Champion.’

Greg Lettieri, Chief Executive Officer of Recycle Track Systems (RTS) commented: ”Rewarding fans for recycling has changed the game for sustainability and the path to net-zero. At RTS, we celebrate our partnership with Anheuser-Busch to bring our Cycle reverse vending machine to the Super Bowl and provide real-time fan engagement and recycling data for the biggest game in sports. We’re energized to see Cycle kick-off our collective efforts to build a future without waste.”

Like the beloved beer hawker at sports stadiums, Recycling Hawkers were deployed in stadiums and at tailgates to collect used cups, cans, and bottles from fans to ensure they are recycled properly. Recycling Hawker volunteers from Keep America Beautiful® encourage fans to hand over their recyclables so that those items can be sorted from the trash and recycled. Check out the Recycling Hawkers in action HERE.

“Keep America Beautiful is proud to be a longstanding partner of Anheuser-Busch and we are thrilled to be a part of the action and activity to improve communities by reducing waste in sports stadiums across the country,” said Keep America Beautiful President and CEO, Jennifer Lawson. “Our volunteers are there to make it easier for fans to recycle properly and we’re excited to be a part of this impactful movement for many seasons to come.”

“We were excited to partner with the National Recycling League to pilot a recycling awareness program for our fans that was unique to Lumen Field,” said Christy Briggs Logistics and Sustainability Manager for the Seattle Seahawks. “We have prioritized waste prevention and reduction as a long-standing initiative, and this Seahawks season, over 121 tons of recycled materials were diverted from Lumen Field by in-stadium collections. That’s a number we’re proud of and know will help create a better and more sustainable future for our community.”

Looking ahead to 2023, Anheuser-Busch plans to work alongside established NRL teams to make a bigger impact, as well as open discussions with other professional teams and leagues to enlist them to participate in the National Recycling League in the years to come.

The National Recycling League builds on Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging and recycling – including through its 2025 Sustainability Goals and as a member of the Green Sports Alliance. By 2025, Anheuser-Busch has committed that 100% of their packaging will be made from majority recycled content or will be returnable, which will make recycling A-B products on game day easier than ever.

“The Green Sports Alliance is inspired by Anheuser-Busch’s 2025 Sustainability goals and its National Recycling League program to engage and motivate millions of fans to help improve recycling rates in stadiums across the nation through the power of sports,” said Roger McClendon, Executive Director of the Green Sports Alliance. “We are proud to recognize the National Recycling League as a Sports Greening Movement Partner and excited to see examples of recycling leadership initiatives and technology at the 2023 Super Bowl.”

ASU CareerCatalyst and Google Announce Job-Ready Sustainability Skills Program

The Sustainability specialization was developed by the CareerCatalyst team, part of ASU Learning Enterprise, in collaboration with faculty led by Christopher Boone, professor and former dean of ASU’s School of Sustainability and Senior Global Futures Scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory.

October 13, 2022 – ASU CareerCatalyst and Google announced a new specialization training program in sustainability to complement Google’s Career Certificate in Project Management.

The specialization, designed for anyone with a high school diploma or greater, introduces common sustainability roles, assesses sustainability challenges that face the planet and employers and equips learners with skills to address these challenges.

Learners who complete the specialization will receive a shareable certificate and be able to make an impact on their organizations with sustainability skills related to goal-setting, reporting and data analysis.

Offered exclusively by ASU — recognized by The Sierra Club as the #1 institution for sustainability — the sustainability specialization is a program that can be “stacked” onto a Google Career Certificate to equip learners with in-demand sustainability skills for well-paying jobs in the growing field of sustainability.

More than 479,000 project management jobs are currently open in the U.S. with a median starting salary of $73,000. In addition, the demand for sustainability-oriented talent in the workforce worldwide is rising. Job postings requiring sustainability-oriented skills grew at 8% annually over the last five years, with studies showing that there is still a lag in meeting that demand, hinting at a growing skills gap.

“ASU, together with Google, is reimagining how we serve learners from all backgrounds and stages in life who are looking for career advancement opportunities,” said Maria Anguiano, executive vice president of the ASU Learning Enterprise, who leads the university’s initiatives and programs that serve learners from pre-kindergarten to post-retirement.

“This career education program is driven by learner and industry needs for sustainability skills that are backed by robust academic expertise,” Aguiano says. “Now, individuals don’t have to choose between learning from world-renowned scholars and gaining job skills that can be applied immediately at work. They can do both and succeed on their own terms.”

The credential was developed by the CareerCatalyst team, part of ASU Learning Enterprise, in collaboration with faculty led by Christopher Boone, professor and former dean of ASU’s School of Sustainability and Senior Global Futures Scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory.

“We’re excited that ASU sustainability faculty are launching a new course to help Google Career Certificate graduates qualify for jobs in this rapidly growing field,” said Lisa Gevelber, Founder Grow with Google. “We’re proud that this program will open up incredible new job opportunities for certificate graduates while equipping them with the skills needed to address some of the most important issues facing the planet.”

As companies continue to grow, they are facing new business challenges related to sustainability and habitability of the planet. They also are facing increased scrutiny from consumers, employees, investors and other stakeholders who ask for greater accountability and transparency regarding sustainability practices. In order to address this growing demand for sustainability professionals, the multi-part specialization will establish a foundation for those looking for jobs such as Sustainability Analyst, Sustainability Specialist or Sustainability Coordinator.

To ensure learners are job-ready, members of the Google Career Certificates employer consortium — including Deloitte and Recycle Track Systems — reviewed ASU’s course content. The employer consortium consists of over 150 companies, including Google, that commit to considering certificate graduates for relevant open roles.
