The breakdown of social infrastructures, the disintegration of families and communities leave women and girls vulnerable to sexual and other forms of gender-based violence, including rape and sexual exploitation by humanitarian actors.
Coined from the word “Safe” SALVUS is a web-based platform we developed to facilitate safe and confidential reporting of sexual violence cases, with access to available comprehensive support services and relevant information with regard to sexual violence.
This human rights problem has begun to be the focus of international attention as efforts are being made to prevent its occurrence; respond to the survivors’ needs, and to address impunity for those responsible.
With a focus on both male and female survivors of sexual violence, this program enables survivors to report incidents and access support via the web, text messages and phone calls. The program also provides support for service providers and individuals who are interested in learning how to help or support a survivor.
